· The Howell Area Chamber of Commerce is a membership organization made up of more than 900 businesses.
· Not a government agency, not dependent on public funds, the chamber serves as the voice of business in the community and an advocate for a high quality of life.
· The chamber is a three-star accredited organization by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, ranking the Howell chamber among the top 5 percent of all chambers in the country.
· Located in Livingston County, the fastest-growing county in Michigan, the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce strives to provide the programs and services that will meet the diverse needs of membership and the community at large.
· Members come from every community in Livingston County, including Howell, Brighton, Fowlerville, Hartland and Pinckney.
· The Howell Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation was formed to receive and administer funds for educational, cultural, scientific and charitable purposes and for the public welfare of the Livingston County community. The Howell Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation building, opened in 1996, houses the chamber, the Livingston County Convention & Visitors Bureau and Livingston County Community Mentoring Service.
· The Howell Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation is one of five organizations across the state selected by the Michigan Chamber Foundation for the Building Competitive Communities project aimed at “smart growth,” a development concept that can benefit the economy, the community and the environment. The goal of the project is to make the Howell area a more competitive place to live, work and play.
