34th Annual Michigan Challenge Balloonfest delivers on the promise to amaze guests

Thank you to sponsors, chamber members, volunteers, chamber staff, community partners and the Michigan Challenge Balloonfest committee for another successful event held last weekend at the Howell High School complex.

Highlights of the weekend included the Saturday night launch and balloon glow, always a fan favorite; and the Sunday night fun flight was a last chance for our guests to see the balloons until next year. The pilot meet and greet gave families a time to learn more about ballooning and collect trading cards that featured the balloon sponsors.

The MediLodge Fireworks, family attractions and more kept guests entertained. Main Street Dueling Pianos and Ben the Lego Man were some of the favorite new additions to the event.

Major Sponsor Cleary University made a significant announcement on Sunday night – awarding a $20,000 freshman year tuition scholarship to a local student and graduate of Howell High School.

The committee, chaired by Rick Resinger of Champion Automotive Group, is already working on the 2019 Michigan Challenge Balloonfest.

“Let us know if you have suggestions or new ideas for the event,” said Michelle Tokan, Michigan Challenge Director. She can be reached at mtokan@howell.org.
