First National Bank scholarship applications being accepted until March 9th

Up to ten $1000 scholarships are being offered by First National Bank to any high school senior residing in Livingston County attending public, private or charter school and those who are home-schooled.  Five teachers will also receive $250 grants presented at the time of scholarship presentation.
Scholarship proceeds must be used for post high school academic or vocational education. For 2018, First National Bank will fund up to ten scholarships of $1,000 each. These are one-time, non-renewable awards.
Scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria: a minimum 3.0 GPA, list of community service participation and extra-curricular activities, work history, written essay, two recommendation letters and any obstacles that challenged the applicant to achieve more during their high school career. Recipients will be awarded at a dinner hosted by First National Bank for recipients, families and special guests. The teacher classroom grants will be selected as part of the scholarship process, no application is necessary.

“First National is all about ‘service’ – to our customers and our community,” said First National Bank President/CEO Ron Long. “The Community Scholarship Program and Teacher Classroom Grants are wonderful examples of the power of local banking at work – it is customers banking locally with First National who make the community scholarship program and our other corporate citizenship efforts possible.”

Randy Greene, VP and Retail Banking Administrator at First National and coordinator of the scholarship program added, “First National staff and community leaders are involved in the selection process. The scholarships benefit the future leaders of our community. And, the grants help our teachers with their important work. This is truly a win, win, win program and First National is proud of the more than $250,000 it has provided since its inception.”
