Howell Chamber President, Pat Convery, receives ‘Michigan Chamber Professional Award’ at state convention

The Michigan Association of Chamber Professionals (MACP) recognized Pat Convery, IOM, President of the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce for her extraordinary industry achievements at the MACP Leadership Conference & Annual Meeting in Grand Rapids on October 26, 2017 with the Michigan Chamber Professional Award. Convery is the first chamber professional to receive the designation twice since its inception in 2014.

“Pat Convery was recognized for her continued professional development, service to the association, and her contributions to the chamber of commerce industry,” said Bob Thomas, Director for MACP. “The designation is a reflection of her passion for chambers of commerce and the regard her professional peers have for her across the state.”

Convery has worked for the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce for twenty-seven years and fourteen as the President. She is an active member of the MACP association, serving in 2016 as the Chair of the MACP Board of Directors. Previously, Convery held positions with the US Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management Northeast Board of Regents and the Michigan Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. In 2016 Convery led the chamber to recognition as the Outstanding Chamber of the Year—Large Chamber category.

The Michigan Association of Chamber Professionals is the industry association for over 300 chambers in Michigan. Its mission is to build excellence in chambers of commerce through organizational and board-level resource support, professional development for chamber staff and to promote the importance of chambers of commerce across the state.
