Livingston Arts Council receives state arts grant

The Livingston Arts Council, which owns and operates the Howell Opera House, has been awarded 2016 grant funding of $12,500 from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA).

The Livingston Arts Council (LAC) is one of only two organizations in Livingston County to receive 2016 MCACA grants.  For the last four years, the LAC has been a recipient of MCACA funding that has strengthened the non-profit’s arts and cultural programs.

MCACA approved a total of $9.65 million in the form of 462 grants to outstanding nonprofit arts and cultural organizations, educational institutions and municipalities in 52 counties in Michigan to cover costs for arts education programs, capital improvements, and operational expenses. MCACA received nearly 600 fiscal year 2016 grant applications, a 20% increase from last year, totaling $17.4 million in requests.

The Livingston Arts Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality arts and cultural programs and events for the enjoyment of individuals of all ages and to enhance the community.
