Many thanks to our generous community, Peanut Row in downtown Howell will be transformed this fall

As part of the place-making initiative in Howell, a treasured alleyway in the heart of downtown Howell will be transformed into a full-time hangout space and public art gallery.

Peanut Row Alley, the alleyway running parallel to Grand River, off State Street. on the northeast side, will be energized to make it a cool spot to gather. A compilation of ideas from community members and residents last fall include adding bistro tables, benches, game boards, planters, overhead lighting and perhaps even music to the alley.

“It will be a place where the community can come and congregate, not just walk through,” Howell Main Street DDA Director Cathleen Edgerly said. “It’s a beloved alley, and with our historic downtown, we want to highlight these unique spaces.”
