Thank you all for a wonderful 43rd Annual Summer Golf Classic. One of the best!

The 43rd Annual Howell Chamber Summer Classic sets itself apart in our community as being the most rewarding outing of the summer

It was a warm and sunny morning at Chemung Hills Golf Course this week as 150 golfers spent the day at the 43rd Annual Summer Golf Classic, hosted by the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce, sponsored by Premier Sponsor, Advanced Disposal. A shotgun start at 8:30am sent 75 golf carts in separate directions to scramble their way through 18 holes of golf. The contests offered throughout the day included a morning 50/50 drawing, five more 50/50 drawings, booze basket raffle, dining card raffle, club cover contest, marshmallow masher contest, hole-in-one contest, closest to the pin contest, longest putt contest, hit the target contest, putting contest, chipping contest, door prizes and special drawings. The prizes involved by generous contributors were astounding while our golfers were ecstatic to network and have a great day with the movers and shakers in our community.

The course was scattered with Howell Chamber members with tents and tables at each hole sponsoring contests and special give-aways. Hole sponsors included: AmeriGas, Ann Arbor SPARK, Backhuus Auto Sales, Inc., Cleary’s Pub, Express Employment Professionals, Hatch Stamping, John W. Connell & Associates PC CPA’s, Lewis & Knopf CPA, PC, Livingston Concrete, L.O. Eye Care, Roy’s Autoworks, Inc., St. Joseph Mercy Livingston, Team One Credit Union and Tribar Manufacturing.

Lunch on the turn, sponsored by Ascension | St. John Providence, offered great grab-and-go hotdogs, sausages and snacks while Grace & Porta Benefits sponsored volunteer logo’d polo shirts and the Good Humor Ice Cream Cart, a wonderful treat for a hot day!

The day ended with a fabulous banquet awards dinner at Chemung Hills Golf Course, sponsored by LOC Federal Credit Union. At the awards banquet, many of our golfers received door prizes, specialty prizes and drawings, but the pinnacle of the day was rewarding the champion golf teams for their performance:

First Place Men’s Team: Greenstone Farm Credit Team: James Cole, Lance Knupp, Andy Gerecke and Robert King.

Second Place Men’s Team: Grace & Porta Benefits Team: Josh Porta, Dave Porta, John Frantti and Ryan Munro from Federated Insurance.

First Place Women’s Team: Tribar Manufacturing Team: Cathy Muylert, Ivy Fox, Betsy Bretz and Amanda Rinz.

First Place Mixed Team: Brighton Ford: Karen Swiesczkowski, Rick Urban, Joe Silvestri and Mark Barnett.

The Howell Area Chamber of Commerce Summer Golf Classic Committee would like to thank the sponsors, volunteers, golfers, chamber staff and Chemung Hills Golf Course for an amazing event for 2017!
