Fantasy of Lights & Fantasy 5k

4:00 – T-Mobile Holiday Welcome Zone! Live reindeer and a visit with Santa Clause
5:00pm – Grand River will CLOSE to traffic from National St. west to Highlander Way. ONCE CLOSED, NO VEHICLES WILL BE ALLOWED TO TRAVEL WEST ON GRAND UNTIL THE COMPLETION OF THE PARADE. Eastbound traffic will be diverted to W. Sibley from Tompkins. West bound traffic will use National St. to West Clinton for the duration of the Fantasy of Lights 5K and parade.
Tony’s Dogs – S Chestnut closed
Kettle Corn – N Walnut closed
Food Trucks – State St closed
6 p.m. – Fantasy of Lights 5K starts from the First Presbyterian Church. There will be costume contest this year for those who want to show off their holiday spirit!
7 p.m. – The Fantasy of Lights Parade returns in all of its pageantry! Floats, marching bands, and much more! The Grand Marshall will light the Howell tree at the start of the parade.
End of Parade Dispersal Floats can disperse in the Roman Pools parking lot. This area is for drop-off only – Floats CANNOT be torn down at this location. Bands, walking groups and animal groups will disperse at North Elm Street.
3:30-7 p.m. in front of the Courthouse – Enjoy holiday music from various groups
Ongoing during the day: Some local businesses will be offering giveaways, discounts and even hot chocolate (while supplies last!)

3:30-7 p.m. – Enjoy holiday music from various groups in front of the courthouse

5 p.m. – Grand River will CLOSE to traffic from National St. west to Highlander Way. Walnut Streets will be closed for food vendors. Food trucks will be on State Street. Tony’s Dogs will be at S. Chestnut and Kettle Corn will be available at N. Walnut.

5:30-6:15 p.m. – Parade float judging will take place in staging area. Staging area is in the Keller Williams Parking lot and on Grand River. Early staging will be done in the Challenger Elementary School parking lot. Floats will need to be in official staging area around 5 p.m.

6 p.m. – Fantasy of Lights 5K starts from the First Presbyterian Church. There will be time to register on the day, with packet pick-up from 12-5pm. There will be costume contest this year for those who want to show off their holiday spirit!

6:30 p.m. – Mandatory Parade driver’s and representatives meeting at the staging area

7 p.m. – The Fantasy of Lights Parade returns in all of its pageantry, complete with floats, marching bands and much more. The Grand Marshall will light the Howell tree at the start of the parade.

  • His sleigh with the jolly old elf will continue the tradition of closing out our beloved Fantasy of Light Parade down Grand River Ave.
  • The Fantasy 5K will also be returning on Friday, November 26th and will be the kick-off to our parade (registration information will be available soon).
