Howell Public Schools

Excellence in Education

Howell is a dynamic, growing school community with a focus on excellence in education that is strongly supported by teachers, parents, citizens and business people. Howell Public Schools is a consolidated school district and is the largest district in Livingston County, with an enrollment of over 8,400. Many of the schools are classified as state exemplary schools. The school district consists of some of the most modern and best-equipped schools in the state with a large high school as well as a separate freshman campus, two middle schools and seven elementary schools.

Howell High School offers four programs of study: a basic course, a general course, a vocational or technical course and a college-bound course. An advanced-placement program allows college-bound students to attain college credits in English, chemistry, biology, calculus, computer science, U.S. history, French, art, government, physics and modern European history.

Through a county-wide School-to-Work Program, business and industry are working with the public schools to make available real world work experiences for every student before high school graduation.
